mike lorrig
Mike was born in Wisconsin, raised and schooled in Germany.
He relocated to Los Angeles to work for a commercial still life studio, producing advertising and catalog assignments. "I learned how to be patient in the process, how to achieve the essence in a picture. Much of it was large format and film, it was a great experience".
Mike opened his studio in the mid 90's, collaborating with Los Angeles design firms and corporate clients.
Being passionate about still life photography, his images reflect a strong sense for composition and detail. Mike prefers to shoot with high end digital photo gear on medium or large format cameras and uses a range of flash and continuous lighting. Currently he splits his time between New York and Los Angeles.
When not in the studio, he enjoys traveling, supports animal welfare or is hiking the Catskills near his home in the Hudson Valley.
His work includes advertising, editorial, annual reports, catalogs for clients like American Express, Allure, Ambrosi, Aromafloria, BCBG, Bank of Hawaii, Belkin, Beverly Hills Mag, Bijan Fragrances, Bikini, Bloomingdale's, Bon Appetit, Columbia TriStar TV, Details, Dermalogica, Fit Pregnancy, Guess?Jeans, Harman Kardon, Helio, Hollywood Reporter, House2Home, I.D., In Style, LA Weddings, Lorac, Los Angeles Magazine, Maxim, Maybelline, MCA Records, Men's Fitness, Men's Health, MGM, Murad, Natural Health, Natures Gate, Neutrogena, Nylon, Old Navy, OPI, Optical Shop of Aspen, People, Shape, Skechers, Teen, The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Tourneau, UCLA, USOC, Vegetarian Times, Victoria’s Secret, Viewsonic, Vogue, Westime, Wired.
